The Don’t Meth With Us project is modeled closely on a project of the San Juan Rotary Club in Farmington discussed in a recent issue of The Rotarian. It is a joint effort of the Las Cruces and Rio Grande Rotary clubs to bring presentations about the harmful effects of methamphetamine use to schoolchildren.

This committee leads the club in an annual project to benefit the local community. It is generally scheduled in the spring of the year, and varies annually at the discretion of the current board of directors. The 2011 project involves beautifying medians on West Picacho Avenue.
Peace Village Project (ad hoc), Chair Ross Ramsey

One of the major projects of the 2011-12 Rotary year will be supporting the Peace Village New Mexico effort. Peace Village is an interfaith, multicultural day camp that welcomes children from all spiritual and cultural traditions.

The Taste of Las Cruces event raises funds to support designated charities by bringing the community together to sample the wares of over two dozen local restaurateurs. Originally a project of the Rotary Club of Las Cruces, it has now grown to include the other two local clubs. The 2012 event, will be held at the Las Cruces Convention Center on June 7, bringing together over 400 people to support the El Caldito Soup Kitchen.
