Taste of Las Cruces benefits Soup Kitchen

The 2012 Taste of Las Cruces event will be held at the Las Cruces Convention Center on Thursday, June 7, 2012, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.  Beneficiary of this year's event is the El Caldito Soup Kitchen. Tickets are available now for $40/person from any Rotarian!  More information>

 …Meets every Wednesday noon at Lorenzo’s de Mesilla, 1750 Calle de Mercado. Please join us! Directions: Take Avenida de Mesilla west from I-10 or Valley Drive (or north from Mesilla) and turn east on Calle de Mercado.

Playground at Children's Crisis Center…Is involved in the Las Cruces community, both as a club and as individual Rotarians. Some of our ongoing community projects include: Taste of Las Cruces, high school senior scholarship program, the Four Way Test essay contest, and the Great Day of Service. New projects for Rotary year 2011-12 include support of the Peace Village project, and Don’t Meth With Us.  (Left: a playground provided for the Child Crisis Center at the Community of Hope).  
 

Kinkizi water and heat…Through and with the support of programs of the Rotary Foundation, is involved in international service projects. Our club actively participates in Polio Plus and Every Rotarian Every Year and has contributed over three hundred thousand dollars to the annual programs fund through the Paul Harris Fellow program. A few of our club-sponsored projects have included the establishment of an eye clinic in Torreon, Coahuila, Mexico; equipping a school in Kinkizi, Uganda (pictured right); and acquiring a van for a Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico, orphanage (see picture on international service page).

…Was founded in 1923 under the sponsorship of the Alamogordo and El Paso clubs. 

…Sponsored the Truth or Consequences club in 1935, the Anthony club in 1974, the Las Cruces Rio Grande club in 1975, and the Las Cruces Mesilla Valley club in 1993.
